Immanuel St. James
parish is located on a picturesque green in Derby, Connecticut.
The city of Derby, located at the junction of the Housatonic and Naugatuck
rivers, once encompassed several of the surrounding towns, but today is the
smallest municipality in Connecticut. Derby
and the entire valley area enjoy a rich history as does our parish which
dates back to 1737, 50 years before the U.S Constitution was written. With
a membership dedicated to sharing Christ’s morals so that others might
learn, a close bond is held between the Church and its parishioners.
Although we are always trying to expand our fellowship, we are proud to
have a congregation whose members know each other by name, not just by
face. We believe this has helped us to establish a close bond with each
other and the communities in which we live and work.
